About Us

Bahareh and Johnny are a couple based in Pittsburgh, PA. Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Bahareh immigrated to the United States in 2011 to pursue her passion for language studies at Kent State University. After completing her PhD in Translation Studies, Bahareh moved to Pittsburgh, PA, where she met Johnny who is an independent artist. Shortly after they met in 2018, Bahareh and Johnny started working together towards their passions. They opened an art studio where they both created mid-to-large scale paintings using mixed media, as well as digital illustration work. They also launched Bahareh Teaches Farsi where Bahareh provides language services. Due to the challenges that the pandemic caused in 2020, they had to close their art studio. In 2021, Bahareh and Johnny together launched an illustrated Farsi language series featuring two cartoon characters, Pishi and Pasha, created by Johnny. Bahareh creates the learning content and Johnny completes the illustrations and design of the books. Four books in the series have been published so far and are available to purchase.
